With AI knocking on the doors of our workplaces, it’s inevitable that it will also find its way into our personal relationships.
Population has been declining in a number of countries. But it may no longer be an economic issue with the rise of automation; although it’s going to be a mess when no one is there to buy any shiz.
Startups are now building AI therapists who can now mimic emotional intelligence. But we know it will still not replace caring and connection.
A lot are looking forward to AGI where machines are capable like humans in every task and that includes caregiving.
With all this, in due time, you will not need warm-blood humans for companionship as well: AI may be able to fully replace even human relationships.
So let’s skip the AI anxiety.
Best friends can become an extinct concept soon, so start looking for FRUITFUL FRIENDSHIPS instead. Even if it’s with machines.
My friend posted this comment on my post of the same content:
Actually Fleire, there is a company that kinda does that as I recall, and it's used as a companion for old people. Not fully automated yet, but what it does is that it's an app that shows itself as a dog or some cute animal, and reminds the old person to take his or her medicine, and answers and converses to them when they're getting lonely asking other things. I have had a friend who had a job like that, working for a few hours a day some years ago (the system changes the workers voice so that the person using the app hears a cute voice on the other end, and they are given general instructions on how to respond to conversations). it's not that far off really that NLPs can replace people working behind that program.
Now this one is a great use case — care for the elderly.
My son and I love to do cat-hunting when we go traveling around.
Will they replace our relationships with cats too? I do know CatGPT already exists. MEOW!
